For many football fans who watched the New Orleans Saints beat the Indianapolis Colts this past October 23, the most unusual thing about the game was the lopsided final score of 62-7. I mean, as fellow hoosiers, we couldn’t believe it but there was something else lurking during the night of the game. For UFO and paranormal enthusiasts who tuned in, something out of the ordinary occured and it wasn’t the tossing of more touchdowns versus completions. As NBC’s cameras returned from a commercial break and focused on the historical, triple-steepled St. Louis Cathedral in the city nicknamed the Big Easy, an unidentified lit object seemed to streak across the darkening sky. It’s not completely known what that was and still to this day, but the frame-by-frame breakdown of the video reveals a rod-shaped object topped with brightly lit dots.
The Huffington Post suggests the unidentified to be that of a rod. Rods, which vary in physical form are unidentified objects also known as sky-fish or solar entities. Some look like centipedes with appendages and others have no appendages but appear to have lights on top of them. They range from several inches in length to over a foot, with membranes on the sides to assist in swimming through the air. Rods can travel at such a speed that they cannot be seen with the naked eye.
Although they are categorized as visual artifacts also known as errors produced by cameras that inadvertently capture several of a flying insect’s wing beats, the following video shows something quite different. The UFO flies behind the cathedral, something that an optical error cannot do.
